HGVC is the leading provider of HGV driver training in the UK. We provide fully managed driver training solutions for corporate clients, including some of the largest logistics companies in the UK.
We are looking for a high-energy and confident Business Development Executive to assist our team in expanding our corporate customer base. The BDE is tasked with managing the end-to-end sales cycle from identifying prospects through to closing business. We’re looking for a true sales hunter who’s not afraid of getting ‘out there’ and tracking down new business at all costs.
To be a successful, you should be money-hungry, target-driven and have excellent communication skills. You should also be self-motivated, demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines and have strong organisational skills.
This is full-time office-based role, however, WFH is at management’s discretion.
Creating target prospects lists, researching the relevant contacts within those businesses and penetrating key accounts.
Initiating contact with potential customers through cold-calling, email, LinkedIn, etc.
Creating relationships with customers to identify their potential needs and qualify their interests.
Presenting product information to customers once you have identified their needs.
Moving prospects through the lead pipeline, setting appointments for face-to-face or Teams meetings.
Ensuring successful follow through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application.
Collaborating with the wider corporate sales team to ensure the company’s goals and targets are met.
You’ll be supported by the Sales Director and the Commercial Director, along with the wider company.
Regular travel to client meetings across the UK will be required.
University undergraduate degree.
1+ year of successful experience in a Business-to-Business (blue chip) sales role
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.
Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic.
Good time management, analytical and organisational skills.
Adept computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience with Salesforce preferred.
Experience in logistics or driver training would be advantageous, but not required.
