Our Rear Tipping Dumper training course is tailored for organisations aiming to certify their workforce in the safe and effective operation of Rear Tipping Dumpers. Whether your employees are new to the machine or experienced operators seeking formal accreditation, this course provides the essential training required.
A Rear Tipping Dumper is a heavy-duty construction vehicle designed to transport and unload a variety of materials such as earth, gravel, and debris on worksites. It features a rear-mounted skip that tilts backward to discharge its load efficiently.
These machines are commonly used in industries such as construction, civil engineering, and landscaping due to their ability to navigate challenging and uneven ground and carry significant payloads.

For more experienced drivers, we offer a 1-day refresher course with a focus on assessment and skill enhancement.
Training sessions can be held at one of our training centres or at your site. Both options are designed to simulate real-world conditions for a practical learning experience.
This course provides trainees with a thorough theoretical understanding and practical experience in the following areas:
A basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
Environmental considerations
Prepare the rear tipping dumper for use & operate machinery safely and efficiently
A working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use
Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
Please note: A valid CITB Health, Safety & Environment test completed within the last two years is required for NPORS certification.
Upon successful completion, participants receive the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) N205 Rear Tipping Dumper certification, valid for five years. This nationally recognised accreditation demonstrates your team’s competence in operating rear tipping dumpers safely and efficiently.
Existing NPORS Card Holder – No (S)NVQ Held
For operators who do not currently hold an (S)NVQ, a Trained Operator card will be issued which is valid for two years from the date of application. During this two-year period operators will be required to register for and achieve the requisite (S)NVQ with the unit credits applicable to the categories of plant stated on their Trained Operator card.
Existing NPORS Card Holder – (S)NVQ Held
Operators who currently hold the requisite (S)NVQ with the unit credits applicable to the categories of plant stated on their NPORS card will be issued with a Competent Operator card valid for 5 years from the date of application. Operators in receipt of the Competent Operator card will also be issued with a CPD record/operator logbook. This will be an ongoing record of that operators’ continuous professional development and of their operating hours in the workplace.
